the 24 last hours in the UK '08

It's scary, oh so scary, how time just passes by without us really thinking about it. I've now been in England for four months. Got an own apartment (with Richipicho). Finished my first term at Uni. And now heading back to Sweden for the first time since I came here. Feels strange - and sooo good at the same time. Will be so wonderful to see my family again. And my dog :)

Tomorrow - the journey back. It's a shame Sterling disappeared in the recession, I'd so much prefer to go to Gatwick and catch the plane their, now I have to travel travel travel to get to Stansted instead. Have to leave from here at about 11am, for a flight that leaves at 6pm something. Lotsa stupid travelling, and it's probably gonna be crowded with Christmas people, like me, travelling around, getting annoyed on everyone else in their surroundings.. Anyway, Sweden tomorrow it is, and luckily my mum, dad and sister will pick me up at the airport when arriving in Vasteras :) Can't wait!

Tonight we'll have a little mini-christmas with take-away food. Hah! Not much of a Christmas, but at least we've got a tree, presents under it and santa-figurines all over the place so might find that Xmas feeling I've been looking for for quite a while now. Rich's parents will join us so I reckon it will be a lovely evening :)

In a week, sweet sweet Xmas celebrations with entiry family :) And just a week after that, my birthday, followed by New Year's Eve. Gonna be, like always, a stressful, lovely holiday :)

For now, that's all. Hopefully everything will go as planned tomorrow, and without major delays - that will piss me off ^^

Talk to you all soon

Waaah!

Going crazy because I haven't got any Internet!! Takes bloody ages for everything to work= do never move in to a brand new flat.. All the extra costs, all the waiting, stuff that doesn't work.. Waaah! But well, still, it is lovely when it does work. And it is lovely that I have finished my stupid critical essay. And it is lovely to know that after my last news article that I am supposed to write - there is a lovely, lovely christmas break waiting for me :)

Tomorrow, me and Rich are going to Basingstoke for some xmas shopping. Haven't even started yet so I better ^^ He's almost done though.. meh! And on Friday I'll be back in Sweden for a while. Aww 'tis going to be so nice to meet my family and get spoiled for a while. Eat christmas food and open gifts. Wii can't wait :) And my birthday as well! And new year's eve :) Wii! The time is gonna kill me cause there is basically so much I have to do. So many people to see. Dearly beloved :)

Well, time for university now, last lecture, hand in essay, finish film project and think about article! Tonight we'll have Heroes running with wine and crisps to celebrate my sweet sweet oh so sweet four week long break! :)

Peace&Love M

Busy bee

Finally, the weekend we all love so dearly! Though, it's gonna be such an intense one. Moving tomorrow so we have to pick up the stupid van at stupid 8am! And we can only have it for three hours! Woah, better not get all stressed up.. Three hours - that's like nothing!

Anyway, we managed to get a few people (bless you guys) to help us, which will simplify things a lot! So, a very intense Friday (I shouldn't really sit here writing ABOUT it, should DO something..) and a very, very, very intense Saturday morningish. Good thing though is the fact that after 12 we can just 'fluff about' in our own apartment and get the bed together and find important things in the boxes - such as the PS3 and my dearly beloved FallOut3.. Haha! Nerd..

But like I said, more important things to do. Am gonna get ready now and go signing stupid papers at the agency and meet the landlord. Then home to pack those last few things and hopefully not freak out :)

Laters guys

Three months and a blog

So how does a Swedish girl end up in the UK?

For three months I've lived in Andover now, three months!? Time flies!
Been studying for nine weeks at the University of Winchester.
Have had my family over once. And will soon see them again.
Living in a tiny room with my boyfriend and got to learn lots of new people.
New culture. New routines. New habits.
New. New. NEW!

It is exciting, terrifying, stressful, interesting, tough - everything mixed up and bubbling inside of me. But most of all I just feel such a freedom! Strength and freedom! Able to do stuff - on my own. Take care of myself, in a new country, using a new language and meeting a new culture. I do like it. Especially the football+beer culture. Sweet, sweet thing!

Right, studying. Takes up 80% or more of my awake time. First year Journalism student. So much to do, learn, read, write, hear, see and so on. The modules have, so far, really opened up my eyes. When watching the News at ten, or Newsnight or whatever it is with a totally new angle that I have never thought about before. It is like an enlightenment about how the media works, and how nasty it actually can be! It will be really interesting going back to Sweden over Xmas and 'use' this knowledge (tiny so far, but, a knowledge) while reading Swedish newspaper and watching the Swedish documentaries made about issues that effect the world in general. Hmm, exciting!

Been writing my first local news story today. A very interesting story about the new recycle centre in Andover. Hm. Just the kind of things I always been dreaming about. Well, guess we all have to start from scratch. Sport though, that is my goal. Olympics in London would be soo cool. Just to carry someone's bag around and struggle with their tripod for the camera. Whatever really, just want to be there.

Anyway. This is my first blogger post, but definitely not my last.

This Saturday me and my boyfriend moves in an apartment in middle of town! Looking forward to! Do not know when the Internet connection will be up, but will definitely keep you guys updated, probably in shorter blog posts than the one made today!

Catch you all later
